The Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series has all the hallmarks of a proper collector’s car. For starters, it’s rare, with just 175 examples ever making it to the U.S. Mercedes-Benz produced 350 examples, one of the shortest runs of any car the German carmaker has produced.
It’s powered by AMG’s twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12, delivering 661 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, making it one of the fastest cars the brand has ever produced. Flat out, it’ll blast past 200 mph.
Of course, performance is just one of the Black Series’ strengths. Based on a standard SL65, the Black Series adds a significantly wider stance, carbon fiber bodywork, and an active rear wing.
This particular example is listed for sale by Canepa out of Scotts Valley, CA. It shows just 1,822 miles on its odometer and is in “like new” condition. Given its mileage and stellar condition, this has to be one of the best Black Series examples anywhere in the world.
