The Volkswagen Touareg was introduced 12 years ago and has since become the leading VW SUV on the market. Considering the price, options and class of the vehicle, it is undoubtedly one of the best options for consumers who need a luxurious family vehicle to drive on a daily basis. With the rise in frigid weather, North America has a higher demand for SUV’s than ever before, and while we don’t have to worry about snowstorms in the sunshine state of Florida, we had the chance to take a snow-worthy SUV for a spin.
The Touareg we received was no ordinary Touareg. We had a Touareg R-Line, which, if you don’t know, is the sport performance trim for Volkswagen. Ours was delivered in a Pure White exterior color trimmed with R-Line characteristics and 20” alloy wheels. The latest design for the SUV consisted of refined aerodynamic features and the most advanced engineering offered by the VW Group. Bi-xenon headlights added to the powerful but luxurious look of the vehicle, as did the LED daytime running lights and LED taillights.
The interior offered a dynamic mix of sport and luxury. The R-Line trim package provide a fantastic sporty feeling only expected from a sports car, while the panoramic sunroof and touch screen navigation system retain the message that this is a luxury vehicle. Bluetooth technology and 12-way adjustable heated front seats offer maximum comfort for driver and passengers, while fog lights and rain-sensing intermittent wipers clear the way in any weather.
Cruising in the Toaureg is a pleasant experience; drivers are offered power where it’s needed with a 3.6-Liter V6 engine producing 280 hp and 285 lbs-ft of torque. What’s even more impressive is this powerful V6 also receives 19 mpg combined fuel efficiency. Power crossed with 4MOTION all-wheel drive and sport suspension ensure optimum comfort through every turn and over every bump.
All together we truly enjoyed the Touareg R-Line. The SUV provided us with a fun yet comfortable ride with luxurious features and plenty of space for storage and passengers. With a price tag of just $55,023.00, it easily competes with the competition with a lighter price. We recommend this vehicle to the consumer who needs an SUV that can offer more than just space and power. Whether it’s to be a daily driver or just for taking the kids to a sports event, this is the vehicle for the job. Contact your local Volkswagen dealer to see one for yourself.
