Seven-time Pikes Peak Champion Jeff Zwart may be the only driver on the roads who has had the honor of learning to drive in a Porsche 901 as a teenager. He began racing Fords before entering the world of rallying 911s. In 1980, years after his start with 911 racecars, he had the honor of driving Jacky Ickx’s custom built 911 off road and experiencing what it really meant for a car to be an original off road buggy.
In the video below, posted by Porsche on Jan. 2, you can hear Zwart tell his story about having the opportunity to drive, on and off road, with a few different 911 racecars. This could quite possibly be a teaser for the upcoming Porsche 911 Safari, which, according to a Jan. 6 article from inautonews.com, is rumored to be unveiled as a concept at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show.[youtube id=”SzEt7rHJxsY” mode=”normal” align=”center”]
