The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive is one impressive little electric car with the statistics to match. Topping the list of its accomplishments is its recent record breaking lap around the Nürburgring Nordschleife. With a time of 7:56.234 this Mercedes swept the field. It schooled the Audi R8 e-tron giving it the top time out of all the impressive electrics to hit the track this year. This bright yellow example was driven by Mercedes AMG vehicle development manager, Markus Hofbauer. This car will most likely be made available for sale later this month with a price tag of $550,600. It’s not surprising that this Mercedes took the top spot. According to Mercedes-Benz, the buildup of torque is instantaneous with electric motors like this one, making maximum torque available from stand still.
