The attractiveness of a hypercar’s appearance can only do so much for overall quality. When picking your new ride, you want something that exudes that “full package feel.” That’s where the lovely exhaust notes come in. Engineers spend months, years even, fine tuning the exhaust note of their cars, making sure its voice matches its appearance.
A few hypercars and supercars got together at the 2013 Wilton Classic & Supercars in Monterey to have a good ‘ol fashioned rev-off. The cars that participated included 2 Bugatti Veyrons, 3 Ferrari Enzos, 6 Pagani Zondas, a Ferrari 599 GTO, a Porsche Carrera GT, a Gumpert Apollo, a Koenigsegg CCR and a Stealth.
How does a rev-off work? It works exactly as it sounds. The contenders each get a turn to rev their engine and the one with the most impressive exhaust, according to the judges, wins. Be sure to watch the video to see who wins.
