The Bugatti Veyron might sit at a 0-60 time in 2.4 seconds and a top speed of over 250 mph, but in this video, those specs proved no match for the 2014 McLaren P1. Even though the P1’s 0-60 time trails the Veyron by three-tenths of a second, the P1 pulls away hitting 176.8-mph,. leaving the Veyron behind at a 172.2-mph.
So how exactly did the McLaren beat out the Veyron in this drag race? The P1’s lighter curb weight could be the winning factor. Sitting at ~3,411-lbs the P1’s substantially lighter frame gave the supercar the upper hand against the Bugatti Veyron, which weighs in at ~4,162-lbs.
