Toyota has been needing an extra bit of ‘umph’ in their line-up since the discontinuation of the Supra. While there has been glimmers of hope in the past of Toyota bringing back the Supra, nothing has been as solid as the concept car released this January, the Toyota FT-1.

FT-1 stands for “Future Toyota” with a 1 at the end, representing the first model of its type. Toyota has been quite receptive to the response they have received regarding the FT-1, prompting some to believe that this car, or a car similar to it, may actually make it to production.
While we wait for the “next Supra,” we now get the chance to view the FT-1 in all of its glory, thanks to a video posted onto YouTube by Jay Leno’s Garage on April 6th.
Leno had Alex Shen, Exterior Chief Designer, and William Chergosky, Interior Chief Designer, visit from Calty Design Research Inc., the company responsible for designing the FT-1. With them was the FT-1 itself, the only one in existence.
