Producer and songwriter Zedd leads us on a tour of his contemporary 9,400-square-foot home, with clean lines and modern stylings. The Grammy award-winning artist decorated the house himself to capture the zen views outdoors and highlight the symmetrical design inside.
Zedd, formally known as Anton Zaslavski, is a chart-topping musician primarily known for his house mixes. His hits “Stay” with Alessia Cara and “Clarity” featuring Foxes rose to the top of the Billboard Hot 100. He was also featured on Ariana Grande’s “Break Free,” which climbed to the 4th position on the charts. At the 56th Grammy Awards, Zedd won the category for Best Dance Recording with his single “Clarity.” Earlier this year he released “The Middle,” a collaboration with Maren Morris and Grey.
After rising to fame, Zedd found himself needing more space for a music studio and his global guests. He came across this particular estate and was drawn to the modern architecture, but thought it was way too expensive. He decided to take a tour of the property for design inspiration and realized then that the house was as perfect for him as it could get. After ten more visits and a year of negotiations, Zedd purchased the home and turned it into his ideal sanctuary for work and day-to-day living.
The artist said, “When you buy something of this size you question every little thing. But this is really as close to perfect a house for me as I can get.” He decorated the home himself, drawing inspiration from the architecture sites he frequents and maintaining the symmetry, which he says is a high priority. He also wanted to encourage indoor-outdoor living, so the home’s atrium and water feature were key selling points. Soaring ceilings and walls of windows underline the natural surroundings, punctuating the panoramic canyon views.
While he may be blaring music on the job, Zedd says the peace and tranquility of the home are most enjoyable. When he’s not working on his craft, he fills the space with colorful art created by his friends rather than loud music.
