Moon Orbiter Speed Metal (Seen Above)
RJ-Romain Jerome’s Moon Orbiter Speed Metal is a black PVD relaunch of the brand’s Moon Orbiter. Created in a large rectangular bezel-free blackened case, it combines steel from the Apollo 11 spacecraft and watchmaking steel. With top, bottom and sides made of sapphire crystals, the self-winding movement with its 3D flying tourbillon escapement (designed to reflect Star Trek’s “Enterprise”) is visible from all angles. The dial is made with moon dust. Even the patented lugs of the watch are space age, created similar to a mechanical jack system found in motorbikes. Just 25 pieces will be made.
Inspired by the famed Statue of Liberty and its Art Deco appeal, RJ-Romain Jerome introduces the new Black edition of the Liberty-DNA watch. Paying homage to the “City that never sleeps,” the line reflects collaboration between the brand, The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation and The Gold Leaf Corporation. The new mechanical 46mm Liberty DNA Black features a black PVD-coated bronze bezel formed in the likeness of the spikes of Liberty’s crown. The spikes, representing hour markers, reach over from the case to mid-dial forming a protective cage. The dial is composed of copper from the Statue of Liberty. It is built in a limited edition of 125 pieces.
