Seabreacher Aquatic-Mammal Submarines

Forget buying jet-skis. Here’s a Christmas present that can be fun in the water for everyone, and even for the people standing on shore. The diving company Seabreacher is offering a few variants of its submarine: the Killer Whale, the Shark and the Dolphin. Each is a two person watercraft designed to look like a designated fish. They boast the ability to skim along the surface of the water at speeds up to 50 mph, and up to five feet beneath the surface at speeds up to 25 mph.

The mechanical sea-mammals are controlled by two levers inside the cockpit and turn using thrusters controlled by foot pedals. Once you’ve become experienced enough behind the nose of one of these animals you can use it to jump up to 16 feet out of the water. The driver and passenger are held into their closed-cell foam vinyl seats with four-point racing harnesses and provided air through a snorkel on the dorsal fin. Inside the cockpit, the driver will find incredible amenities, such as an iPhone dock, speedometer, pressure gauges and even an LED screen displaying a view of the surface through a camera on the dorsal fin.

The Shark and Whale Submarines are powered by a 260 hp supercharged Rotax axial flow engine, while the Dolphin produces a smaller 215 hp. All three Submarines protect passengers with a ½ inch of glass around the dome. Prices start at $90,000 and supplies won’t last long. You can buy yours here.
