If you’re traveling for business and plan to be spending quite a bit of time in another city, it can become tiresome to sleep in a hotel for too long. It doesn’t take much time to begin missing the comforts of home, leading many business people to find a serviced apartment – similar to a hotel and meant for temporary stays, but much homier, and easier for those traveling with their families.
Mercedes-Benz is working to make a few of those serviced apartments even more comfortable and enjoyable for those staying away from home. In a press release today, the German manufacturer announced the first six “Mercedes-Benz Living @ Fraser” apartments will be in London, and can be rented as soon as November of this year.
“More and more people are permanently on the move. They live and work in unfamiliar cities where they are looking for a ‘home away from home’ and a sense of security,” said Wilfried Steffen, head of the Business Innovation department, in the release. “That’s exactly what we want to offer them – and at the very highest level and with the perfection and quality that you’d expect from Mercedes-Benz.”
Flowing lines and sculptural furniture define the aesthetic of each of the apartments, which cover 100 square meters, or 1,076.39 square feet, and include two bedrooms, living and dining areas and a full kitchen. One feature that’s especially noteworthy is the “Black Magic Wall,” a media wall with integrated smart TV that intentionally contrasts against the historic beauty of surrounding Kensington Street.
The units are part of the Fraser Suites Kensington, London, one of the properties maintained by Frasers Hospitality Group. As their website describes, the organization offers more than 21,000 rooms and suites throughout the world, with locations in 49 major cities in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Europe. Singapore will be the next Fraser location to see Mercedes-Benz Living suites opened, with nine planned to open in early 2016.
