If you haven’t experienced the latest Shelby in person, you are truly missing out. The GT350R Mustang is loaded with a 5.2-liter flat-plane V8, and it could be yours! Each year our friends at the Shelby American Collection hold a drawing for a piece of history. This year it is a Ford Performance Blue 2019 Shelby GT350R, or $75,000 cash.

I would take the car, because nothing sounds like an American V8 shifting at 8,000 rpm. It offers 526 horsepower at 7,500 rpm, and 429 lb-ft of torque just below 5,000. Shifting the 6-speed manual at these speeds offers a soundtrack unlike any other, but this car is more than a spectacular engine.

Ordered with every option, it has MagneRide damping control with the ability to instantly change between track and street settings. Massive Brembo brakes are clearly seen behind the 19″ carbon fiber wheels. These works of art are much lighter than aluminum, and they are another first in an American production car.

The dash is carbon fiber and includes auxiliary gauges in the driver’s line of sight. The technology package includes a Bang & Olufsen audio system along with 12 speakers. SYNC3 includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with Sirius XM integration.

The Shelby American Collection is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in Boulder, CO. They are dedicated to preserving the history of Carroll Shelby and the Shelby American race team. Tickets are available starting at $25 for three. The drawing will take place August 31st at 7pm Mountain Time, so tickets for this mean machine would make a great stocking stuffer.
