Considered Ferrari’s first supercar, the 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO at Velocity Motorcars gives potential buyers the opportunity to own a piece of iconic, Italian made history. The 288 GTO was built specifically to compete in the Group B Race series, but the tragic death of Henri Toivonen and Sergio Cresto in the 1986 Tour de Corse meant the 288 GTO would never see a track. Instead the vehicle was re-marketed for the road, and that’s where all 272 cars remained.
The 288 GTO is equipped with a 2.8-liter V8 capable of 394 horsepower. Marked by a 0-60 time of 4.6 seconds an a top speed of 189 mph, the vehicle was the first ever road car to reach more than 186 mph. This particular example is offered in stunning Rosso Corsa with a complimenting black interior. With only 2458 miles clocked, this example is in pristine condition.
