Carroll Shelby was an idol of mine, and an American automotive icon. When he passed away earlier this year, he left behind a legacy that cannot be matched. But, the legacy and empire that he built did not start in a large, technologically advanced shop; it started in a quaint red brick shop in Marina del Rey, California.
This is where the retired race car driver started his car company and created some of the world’s greatest cars, such as the AC Cobra. He eventually had to leave the shop behind due to an expanding business. His shop laid dormant for quite some time, but it is now for sale.
That’s right, for $4.7 million you can own the former headquarters of Carroll Shelby. Who knows, maybe you can find inspiration inside the shop to start your own fledgling automotive company.
For more information, visit the commercial real estate company that is selling the property, Lee & Associates.
