Porsche’s New Online Configurator Introduced

For those who are interested in finding the perfect Porsche for your collection, there are now, quite literally, a sextillion of possible options, or 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 combinations, through Porsche’s latest online configurator.

A press release from the marque today announced the revamping of this configurator specifically for ease of use on mobile devices. That means that, no matter where you are in the world or what device you’re using, you can access the Porsche website to create and purchase your very own, completely customized masterpiece.

This configurator reconfiguration comes from Porsche’s analysis of their total web traffic, which sees more than 40 percent of its visitors accessing through either a smartphone or tablet. This shift in user behavior along with the consistent pursuit of flexibility when accommodating customer requests, have emphasized the need for a responsive web design.

To design a car from start to finish, it takes an average of 16 minutes. Since the 2016 Porsche Boxster Spyder was released just yesterday, April 1, at the New York International Auto Show, we figured we’d spend a minute creating our ideal version of this new car. Select Model


Select Exterior Features


Select the paint and wheel options that you would like on your Porsche. We went with the GT Silver Metallic, priced at $2,580, and the standard 20″ Boster Spyder Design Wheels.

Select Interior Features


First select the colors and materials,  including Sport Seats Plus, Adaptive Sport Seats Plus or Bucket Seats. Ours sports the leather interior with Alcantara in garnet and black, with full bucket seats, priced at $4,730.

Select Extra Options


Next, select the various interior options available, such as a Burmester or Bose Surround Sound System, as well as performance and exterior options.


You even have the ability to select which color you would like your key painted.

View and Place Order


The last step shows each option that you selected and its price, along with the total cost. With our selections, $30,345 was added to the base price of $82,100. Throw in the $995 destination charge, and our custom 2016 Porsche Boxster Spyder costs $113,440. From here, you can find a dealer nearby or find current offers similar to your selections to make this virtual reality come to life.
