Traveling in a supercar often presents a unique set of problems. For owners of the new Porsche 918, the extra space required by the hybrid drivetrain limits the size of personal storage areas for passengers. If you aren’t content wearing every item needed for your trip, Porsche Tequipment has developed a five piece luggage set specifically for the 918. A press release from the company today described that the line is comprised of two garment covers, two storage boxes and a trolley. It can be had as either the complete five pieces, a three piece travel set or two piece stowage set.

Carbon Fiber formed into a unique wedge shape allows the trolley to lay in the base of the storage compartment and still leave room for stowage of the roof panels. With 30 liters of space, it can be expanded by an additional 10 if the roof remains on the car. Another carbon case is molded for the center console and provides 4 liters. The other small box fits inside the glove box and utilizes the factory hardware already in place. The set is completed by two soft bags designed to hang from the seatbacks. Magnets sewn into the bags keep them securely in place and held together when folded.

This set is “Handmade in Germany” and available in the same colors as the 918’s interior. As usual, the leather is of the highest grade and multiple layers of carbon fiber are clear-coated for durability. Alcantara lines the insides of the boxes to complete the motorsports theme. Pricing has yet to be released, but stay with us for updates as we learn more.
