Joining the Boxster and Cayman in the 2015 GTS department is the new 2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS. Unveiled in a press release issued today is the latest generation of the Cayenne’s GTS range. When the Cayenne GTS was first created in 2007, it was the first time the acronym had been used since the 904 Carrera GTS of 1963.
When compared to the previous model, which was powered by a naturally aspirated V8 engine, the new 3.6-liter V6 bi-turbo engine produces 20 more horsepower and 63 more lb-ft of torque. With this boost in power, the new Cayenne GTS is capable of 440 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. This rise in numbers does not go unused, as the 2015 model can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 5.2 seconds, .5 seconds faster than the previous model.
As far as appearances go, the GTS will definitely be identifiable amongst a crowd of base Cayennes. A minute change that improves both the aesthetic appeal and driving capabilities of the vehicle is the 24 mm drop in ride height due to the Porsche Active Suspension Management damping system. The body itself comes standard with a turbo nose section that features large air intakes and the Sport Design package. This package includes contoured side sills and wheel arch extensions.
Contrasting against the brighter body finishes are the black lettering, 20-inch wheels, exhaust tailpipes, housing of the bi-Xenon headlights and fittings of the darkened LED rear lights.
The new Cayenne GTS will have its world premire come Nov. 19 at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Stay with us for more information regarding its pricing as it is released.
