If you’ve ever had your Pagani Huayra BC out in the middle of a frozen lake, you’d know that its brakes could handle themselves even on ice. This is because Pagani and Bosch teamed up to install a brake system that could handle the Huayra BC’s 750 hp 6.0-liter V12 engine. To prove to the world that these brakes can get the work done, Bosch and Pagani teamed up to film some extreme testing in the Arctic Circle.
“The philosophy of our vehicles is a combination between Art and Science, Technology and Design, Performance and uncompromising safety. Bosch Engineering has been our partner for a number of years now in this endeavor,” said Horacio Pagani, founder and chief Designer of Pagani Automobili, in the video’s description.
They also note in the video’s description that the hardware installed is part of Bosch’s mass-production portfolio. However, Bosch Engineering GmbH created a custom adaptation of the company’s software specifically for the Huayra BC.
“This is the only way in which we can exploit the entire safety potential of the software while creating the dynamic handling particular to this brand. We understand Pagani’s requirements in this regard, and we are developing the software accordingly,” said Bernhard Bihr, president of Bosch Engineering GmbH, in the video’s description.
