GT-R enthusiasts, rejoice! Nissan has announced pricing and full specs for the 2016 models, which are officially available for purchase as of today. There are four versions of the GT-R available for the 2016 model year: Premium, Black Edition, NISMO and a 45th Anniversary Gold Edition, each of which is available in limited quantities for the US Market.
Pricing for the 2016 GT-Rs begins at $101,770 USD for the GT-R Premium, rated at 550 hp and 463 lb-ft from its 3.8-liter twin turbo V6. A press release from the Japanese manufacturer further detailed the Premium’s features, including bucket seats and a cockpit-style instrument panel, all surrounded by an 11-speaker Bose sound system. It is without doubt that we can say this blend of performance and luxury is a success.
The Black Edition offers the same performance as the Premium, but with a pricetag of $111,510, there are obviously a few differences from the base model. A special black and red interior is coupled with a unique dry carbon fiber rear spoiler and lightweight black aluminum forged RAYS wheels to create a sleek and aggressive design that speaks to the sportiness of the GT-R line.
In honor of 45 years of the GT-R name from Nissan, the 45th Anniversary Gold Edition is built off of the Premium and features a special gold paint color. Only 30 examples of this limited-edition model are expected to be available for purchase in the United States.

With 600 hp and 481 lb-ft packed into its VR38DETT 3.8-liter twin turbo V6, the NISMO offers the highest performance figures of all, which, naturally, bumps the price up even further. Listed at $149,990 USD, the 2016 GT-R NISMO is Nissan’s top-of-the-line example, with interior and exterior designs reflecting that fact. There are four colors available for the NISMO: Solid Red, Jet Black, Super Silver and Pearl White.
After Matt McCulloh’s reaction to his NISMO delivery in Oct. 2014, which you can watch in the video above, we hope we’ll have a chance to see a delivery of the 2016 NISMO to a few lucky customers. Better yet, we hope to have one attend one of our monthly Cars and Coffee gatherings in the near future.
