Previously, the world record for the fastest 1/4 mile by a GT-R was held by AMS’ Alpha Omega GT-R for its time of 7.70 seconds at 186 mph. Now, an Extreme Turbo Systems GT-R has beaten this record.
Clocking in a just 7.49 seconds at 189 mph, this GT-R crushed the previous 1/4 mile world record. The record breaking run took place during the TX2K15 event in Houston, Texas at the Royal Purple Raceway.
According to a March 25 article on Dragzine.com, Lucas English of English Racing, whom the car belongs to, said the car makes around 2,000 hp with 55 lbs-ft of boost.
