At the TX2k15 event held March 19-22, AMS Performance Alpha GT-Rs were out in full force for the races held on the Royal Purple Raceway dragstrip in Baytown, Texas. These included the Diamonds by Wire Alpha 20 GT-R and the TSM Alpha 16 GT-R.
While the Alpha 20 GT-R, driven by Gideon Chamdi, was running during the Test and Tune on Sunday, March 22, he broke a new record. After flying down the 1/4 mile strip and crossing the finish at 180 mph, he recorded a time of 7.94 seconds. This made him the first customer to ever run 7s in an R35 GT-R. This video can be seen above.

Not wanting to be left out of the 7 second club, the Alpha 16 also recorded a pass at 7.99 seconds.

During the closing ceremonies of the event, Gideon was awarded 1st place in the GT-R 4 Class Drag Event thanks to his high-speed runs in his Alpha 20. The TSM Alpha 16 came in as the runner up in the GT-R 4 division.
