We’ve heard its engine rev, we’ve watched David Coultard take it around the track and now, at last, we know its price.

Jalopnik posted an article Jan. 22 revealing the price of the AMG GT S, which they discovered after obtaining a copy of an internal email sent to Mercedes-Benz dealers from their corporate offices. Today, the New Jersey headquarters of Mercedes-Benz USA issued a press release with the same information.

“We are pleased to officially announce the base pricing for the 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT S,” reads the letter. “The AMG GT S is only the second car wholly designed by Mercedes-AMG and represents a watershed movement for AMG. Proven by its performance statistics and numerous positive reviews by the automotive press, the AMG GT S enters the sports car segment not just to participate, but to redefine it.”
