There’s something inherently soothing about the sound of an engine’s steady climbs up and down, especially when you know the sound you’re hearing is that of an unleashed hypercar taking on a track the way it’s supposed to.
The McLaren P1 GTR is the marque’s homage to their 1995 podium win at the 24-hours of Le Mans, and it is worthy of the GTR name indeed. First unveiled on Feb. 18, the P1 GTR’s horsepower has been cranked up to 986 hp, it can reach 60 mph from a standstill in 2.4 seconds and it has an estimated top speed of an insane 225 mph. And, luckily for us, a video was added to YouTube April 23 by yd222 of this insane beast in action on the Circuit Spa-Francorchamps.

Be sure to turn your volume up before playing the video above, because these sounds are not something you want to miss. And when you’re done, there’s another treat below. Also from yd222, a channel run by “two Belgian petrolheads with a passion for videography,” as their About section states, is another video from Spa-Francorchamps of another heritage-heavy McLaren.
First unveiled as the McLaren with devilish power on Feb. 4, the McLaren 675LT is a leaner, lighter and more powerful take on the 650S. A revised 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 creates that notorious 666 bhp power figure, while new styling increased downforce 40 percent over the 650S. Uploaded to YouTube today, the video just above shows a heavily camouflaged version of this McLaren testing on the Spa-Francorchamps F1 track.
Be sure to enjoy the sonorous symphony in both videos above, and when you’re finished, browse through our exclusive McLaren listings at the button below, and find the perfect track companion for your collection.
