2021 will be an interesting year for the GT2 Class. With a goal of setting lap records at the world’s toughest tracks, KTM has unveiled the X-Bow GTX. Famous for building indestructible motorcycles, KTM is also Austria’s only native automaker.
The latest X-Bow is the culmination of a dozen years of building supercars. The leader of KTM Sportscar Hubert Trunkenpolz said ” We transfer KTM’s essential brand elements – extreme, performance and purity – together with KTM’s core areas of expertise, which include state-of-the-art motorsports technology, extremely lightweight construction and the highest quality components, in a racing car that clearly reflects the signs of the times.
In motorsport, it is necessary to focus development on a superior power-to-weight ratio to be even faster with economical, more efficient small volume engines. The knowledge acquired from this process must then also be incorporated into the series development.”
It offers 600 horsepower from Audi’s 2.5L turbo, with a race weight of 2,200 lbs. Without a doubt it will beat their 2012 ‘Ring record, so here is a blast from the past. Stay with us for all your KTM news.
