It seems hard to believe that Monterey is almost upon us again. A must-see for any automotive enthusiast is RM Sotheby’s annual auction at the Portola Hotel. Aside from a slew of rare Italians, this year RM will be hosting the collection of Jim Click. His passion for Ford Performance is unmatched. The highlights of the weekend will be a 289 powered GT40 Mk1 and a 1964 Shelby Cobra. Also powered by the venerable 289 small block, chassis CSX 2473 has over 14 first place finishes to its credit.
If you need a Boss in your life, Mr. Click is parting ways with his 1969 and 1970 Boss 302 Mustangs. Both were raced in the Trans Am series, and were driven by the likes of Dan Gurney and AJ Foyt. For Shelby collectors, a 1966 GT350 that dominated the southern division of SCCA in 1970 can be yours for an estimated $450,000.
Mr. duPont’s Bidders pass should get us close enough for complete coverage, so be sure to follow our Instagram and Facebook page August 19th and 20th for live coverage of the event.
