After yesterday’s leak, Ferrari has officially released all of the juicy details on the new 488 Pista sports car. This new model acts as a successor to the other V8 special series models, including the 360 Challenge Stradale, 430 Scuderia, and 458 Speciale. Why Pista? “Pista” in Italian translates to “Track,” which makes sense when you learn that this car’s development came out of Ferrari’s experience in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Ferrari 488 Pista Specs:
Horsepower: 710 hp
Torque: 568 lb-ft
0-62 MPH: 2.85 Seconds
1/4 Mile: TBD
Top Speed: Over 210 MPH
Compared to the 488 GTB, the new 488 Pista comes in 198 lbs lighter and with an additional 49 horsepower. That last part points to what Ferrari calls ” the largest ever increase in engine power for a special series car.” Total output for the 488 Pista is set at 710 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque. Combine the reduces weight and increase power, and you have a 0 to 62 mph time of 2.85 seconds, 0-124 mph time of 7.6 seconds and a max speed of over 210 mph.
Visually, the 488 Pista has a few modifications that are both functional and appealing to the eye. Up front is a new S-Duct in the front, front diffusers, and revised rear spoiler. Ferrari states a 20 percent increase in downforce compared to the 488 GTB.
An official price has not be released as of yet.
