Spectator footage from this weekend’s Concorso D’Eleganza Villa D’Este is beginning to flood in, and the one we were anticipating was just uploaded. Aston Martin’s latest concept is Zagato’s beautiful interpretation of the Vanquish. As we reported on Friday, this new concept takes compound curves of carbon fiber to the next level. The hand formed body is comprised of fewer panels than the production Vanquish. This not only makes for lighter weight, because having fewer body panel seams allows your eyes to become lost in the finer details of the design.
Adjustable exhaust systems offer the driver more power and more sound at the push of a button. The lucky driver awakens the 6.0-liter V12 to the delight of the crowd and gives us a few blips of the throttle. You may wonder why the engine sounds slow to respond, it is intentional. Aston Martin engineers a delay to heavy throttle inputs which not only protects the big V12’s internal components, its also makes the tachometer respond with proper British civility. The video was captured by NM2255 Car HD Videos, who also got a few quick scenes of the stunning interior. We hope Aston Martin gives Zagato the green light for production, as this would be a delight to see in person. Stay tuned to Autofluence for more coverage from Concorso.
