The latest generation of the Mercedes SL is an AMG exclusive, with high performance, stunning looks, and driver-focused design. The newest version of the Mercedes-AMG SL is the new Mercedes-AMG SL 43, the entry level version powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that features interesting racing-derived technology.

Turbo lag is a challenge that engineers have to overcome to achieve optimal performance, and the solution that Mercedes-Benz has included in the new SL 43 is derived from its Formula 1 efforts. It uses an electric motor attached to the turbocharger to spin it, allowing for power delivery on demand. As a result, the 2.0-liter engine achieves 375 horsepower, 354 lb/ft of torque, and gets the SL 43 from 0-60 in 4.8 seconds with a 170 mph top speed. As the entry-level Mercedes-AMG SL, it starts from $109,000. It arrives at U.S. dealerships in the summer and finishes a trilogy of Mercedes-AMG SL models.
