With a rapidly expanding lineup of all-electric vehicles, BMW is going full-steam, or rather, full-charge ahead into a new chapter of the manufacturer’s very long history and starting an era characterized by electric vehicles. With SUVs, sedans, and performance models, BMW is counting on EVs as the key to its future, and its customers seem to be responding in kind according to BMW’s financial results for the first quarter of 2023. Sales of BMW electric vehicles more than doubled again in the quarter, totaling 55,979 units.
With the strong lineup of the BMW iX, i7, i4, and iX3, along with the new iX1 and the i5 sedan coming this year, electric vehicles appeal to a variety of BMW drivers, and an electric 5 Series Touring and iX2 that BMW has promised will continue to bolster these qualities. However, BMW’s success goes beyond the all-electric, with a successful launch of the BMW XM, the avant-garde flagship SUV of the BMW M division. With slight growth reported for Rolls-Royce, and a positive trend in March noted for Mini despite a slight sales decline, the BMW Group starts 2023 on a high note.
