The South by Southwest gathering is a place where ideas and imagination run wild, whether it be in art, technology, innovation or otherwise, it’s a hub for creativity and avant-garde expression, and Porsche is using that to its full advantage. With concept cars, art cars, and creative collaborations, Porsche has announced its plans to put on a show at SXSW this year, and what a show it is.
Recently, a new Porsche-based Autobot was featured as part of the new Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts film, and its name is Mirage, based on the legendary Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.8. The car will be present at SXSW, along with Porsche’s new 357 concept car, a futuristic take on the original Porsche 356 that celebrates Porsche’s establishment as an automotive manufacturer in 1948, 75 years ago. Other art cars in attendance will include those designed by Daniel Arsham, the 928 Nebula Car, Chris Labrooy, the 996 Swan Car, and more, including the Porsche Vision Gran Turismo show car, created in collaboration with the eponymous racing simulation video game. With creativity in the virtual, real, and art worlds, Porsche plans to wow SXSW-goers yet again.
