Richmond Auctions Announces February Event:
Over 800 Rare And Investment Grade Pieces

Coming off the record-breaking $1.55 million sale of a 48” double-sided porcelain Musgo Gasoline sign this past August, Richmond Auctions is proud to announce our premier February 17-18 auction, consisting of over 800 rare and investment grade pieces.  This advertising auction will include automobilia, petroliana, and dealership related items including porcelain signs, neon signs, gas globes, oil cans, and merchandising displays.  Most items have been certified and guaranteed authentic by The Authentication Company (TAC).

9′ Rolls Royce Porcelain Neon Sign

This sign is one of one known. Single-sided porcelain (SSP) neon sign that has exceptional color and gloss. It is believed that the sign hung on JS Inskip’s Rolls Royce showroom, on 58th and 8th Ave, in New York City.  Inskip was the largest east coast importer of Rolls-Royce from the late 1930s to the late 1960s. This sign was likely displayed at the showroom he had located in Manhattan as it was uncovered while remodeling a Manhattan building taken down and put in storage. The field has two tiny chips (smaller than eraser) with some staining in areas of the white lettering. It has some minor chipping at the insulator holes and neon standoffs. The sign is mounted on a bespoke art deco styled can comprised of mirrored stainless, brass, and blackened steel and it displays exceptionally well. The electric transformers and glass tubing are all new and the sign is in working condition. This is likely a once in a lifetime opportunity as this sign will likely not be offered for sale again. Measures 27″ x 106″. Rated 9C by The Authentication Company (TAC #008368).

15′ Allied Van Lines Nation Wide Moving Single Sided Porcelain Neon Sign

Single sided porcelain (SSP) five-piece neon sign that has great color and gloss. Sign has touched up chips in the field with the majority being where the panels of the sign connect. Additional touched up area near an insulator in the center and another small area in the orange below the word “Nation”. Great sign that displays very well. The truck wheels are animated. This sign was displayed on the Allied Van Lines building and is one of two know. Measures 60.5″ x 179.5″ x 9″. Rated 8.5 by The Authentication Company (TAC #042088).
