As a whole, the BMW Group sold over 2.5 million vehicles worldwide in 2021.
The BMW brand celebrated 2.2 million sales last year, which puts them at the top of the food chain in the global premium segment. This surpassed their previous all-time high by 9.1 percent compared to 2019, and BMW Group cites the introduction of electric vehicles as one of the biggest contributing factors.
In Germany, one in every four BMWs sold is electrified, and MINI’s electric model has become their highest volume seller. As BMW announces a continuing move towards electric powertrains, the success of those models indicates that it is a welcome change.
