Their latest press release hints at the details of their new "Electric Versatility Program". Starting with an investment of 350 million euro ($422,822,750), the Sprinter plants in South Carolina and abroad will be re-tooled for a high-voltage future.

Considering the powertrain used by our friends at Airstream, their Interstate series is built around a twin-turbo V6 diesel. Not only must they work around the driveshaft and fuel systems, but the auxiliary generator also requires its own fuel, battery management, and packaging concerns.
