We’ve become familiar with the Porsche Mission E over the recent months. Now, the Mission E has been given an official name: Taycan. This name is derived from Turkish and can be roughly translated to “lively young horse.” If you’ve even taken a close look at a Porsche emblem/crest, you’ve noticed the leaping steed that’s been there since 1952.
“Our new electric sports car is strong and dependable; it’s a vehicle that can consistently cover long distances and that epitomizes freedom,” Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG, explains. Horses can travel long distances, are strong and dependable and ones found in the wild are as free as can be. I’d say this is a fitting name.
