One of the greatest tests of a new car is its ability to tackle the infamous Nürburgring Nordschleife, a 12.9 mile long track of twists, turns, trees and altitude changes. To see how their newest creation stacks up against the other performance cars in the world, Lotus didn't only bring the 3-Eleven to the Nordschleife - they spent two weeks testing there. They revealed in September that their unofficial time around the track rang it just around seven minutes, six seconds, making it one of the fastest cars to ever take on the green hell.

A press release Oct. 13 and an Oct. 9 YouTube video from the British manufacturer give us another look at those trips around the Nürburgring, with Lotus driver Marc Basseng behind the wheel of their prototype 3-Eleven. With 450 bhp and a weight under 2,000 pounds, it can accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than 3 seconds while reaching a top speed of 174 mph. It's the fastest car to come from Lotus, and after driving through rainy days, dry days, cold days and hot days over those two weeks, it's also one of their most durable. Check out the video above to see if the 3-Eleven will be your next track car when it begins production in 2016.
