The hill climb at Pikes Peak is one of the most anticipated climbs of the year, and the most anticipated climb in the United States each time it occurs.

The road to the top of Colorado's Pikes Peak entails 156 turns over 12.4 miles and a top elevation of 14,110 feet, and as Acura described in a June 25 release, the 2016 NSX was ready to set the pace for every other car attempting to race to the top. Though the actual climb occurred June 28, the same day the marque posted a picture of the pace car to their Facebook page, Acura shared a full look at the NSX's agile trip in a YouTube video posted July 10.

The 2016 NSX is the long-awaited successor to the original NSX, which was produced from 1990 to 2005. Unveiled at the New York International Auto Show Jan. 13, the new NSX was designed by 34-year old Michelle Christensen, and it features a twin-turbocharged V6 engine mated to a 9-speed dual-clutch transmission.
