It’s always been a dream of William Shatner’s to travel across the country on a motorcycle, experiencing American highways without any barriers surrounding him, but the right motorcycle for the job never seemed to appear.

At least, that’s what he says in a video uploaded to Vimeo Dec. 5. It shows Shatner sitting down with Kevin Sirotek, a 4th generation stakeholder in the parent company of American Wrench, charting out the inspiration behind their new project: Rivet Motors.
“I’ve been across this country on my thumb, in sports cars, in trucks, with a dog, with a family, but I’ve never been across the country in a motorcycle,” says Shatner. “I want to do that, and I’m going to do that, on this new RIVET motorcycle.”
With design inspired by a B-17 bomber, this machine has been designed from the ground up to provide the feeling of sitting in a cockpit and command center, with just enough room for the captain. The website explains that a “brute V8” will power the vehicle, which will be completely hand-built.
“We’ve partnered with William Shatner to create a machine that combines the experience of riding a motorcycle, driving a high performance car and gives the feeling of flying on the open road. The result is RIVET, a machine as distinguished and iconic as the man himself, William Shatner.”
For fans of Shatner, there’s a chance to win an autographed sketch of the RIVET framed with an aluminum screen print featuring a portrait of the legend himself. Click here to find out how you can enter.
