Stepping into 2015, there is no doubt that Mercedes-Benz will continue to be one of the primary forces behind the future of the automobile and transportation overall.
The German manufacturer reported record high sales for 2014, unveiled one of the most comprehensive and advanced autonomous vehicles, the F 015 Luxury in Motion Research Vehicle, at the Consumer Electronics Show and laughed at advertising cliches ahead of their 2015 Fashion Week in Berlin.
But it isn’t recently that Mercedes-Benz moved to the front of the pack. In fact, they created the pack. As their website will tell you, the first car ever created was a Mercedes-Benz, crafted by Carl Benz himself in 1886. The three-wheeled Motorwagen was the first car ever driven a long distance, traveling 66 miles one way with Carl’s wife Bertha acting as both driver and mechanic.
It only makes sense that in the nearly 130 years that cars have been wearing a Benz badge, there have been quite a few beautiful beasts created, but that doesn’t stop us from selecting the ones that impress us the most.
Read through the list below to see our selections for the top Mercedes-Benzs of all time, in no particular order, and be sure to let us know in the comments if you think we left any out.
