Want an E-Class that’s packing a little more power? You’re in luck. Recently unveiled is the new 2017 Mercedes-AMG E43, the new top-of-the-line E-Class.
2017 Mercedes-AMG E43 Specs
- Engine: 3.0-liter V6 Biturbo
- Horsepower: 396 hp at 6,100 rpm
- Torque: 384 lb-ft at 2,500-5,000 rpm
- 0-60 mph: 4.5 seconds
- Top Speed: 155 mph (limited)
The biggest selling point of the new E43 AMG is its 3.0-liter V6 BiTurbo engine that packs 396 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque. This is a huge step above the E350’s 302 hp and 273 lb-ft. With this power and a quick 9-gear automatic transmission, it can propel itself from 0-60 mph in a solid 4.5 seconds, even with a weight of 4,145 lbs. If you’re looking for a top speed, know that it’s been limited at 155 mph, but that was expected.
Exterior-wise, there are a few new additions to the E43. In the front is a redesigned fascia with three massive openings, cross fins, a diamond grille and a louver in high-gloss black. The sides are home to the 19-inch AMG five-spoke light-alloy wheels in high-gloss black, while the rear has quad exhaust tailpipes and a silver chrome rear diffuser.
Inside is a luxurious cabin covered in MB-Tex/DINAMICA upholstery, with matching MB-Tex door center panels and dashboard. If you’re looking for some tech, it has an HD 12.3-inch instrument panel for your viewing pleasure.
A price has not been announced yet, but it will surely be unveiled when the car mades its debut at the New York International Auto Show this month.
