Station wagons offer a convenient mode of transportation, with the economy of a sedan and room for cargo. America maintains a love/hate relationship with wagons, which began when SUVs and crossovers overtook the market. But outside the US, wagons are still a popular body style. Mercedes is no stranger, as they build several flavors of the E-Class Estate Wagon. Even AMG gets in on the action, building a 577 hp version that sprints to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.
Change is inevitable in the automotive world, and now that the new E-Class sedans are reaching dealers, Mercedes teased us with the upcoming wagon version. In a concept rendering uploaded to Facebook over the weekend, we see the trademark resemblance to the other new E-Class coupes and sedans. Since the wagons share most of their driveline with their sedan counterparts, the high performance version will probably arrive with a version of the 4.0L twin-turbo V8 found in other AMG models. Complete details will be released on June 6th, so stay tuned to Autofluence for more Mercedes and AMG news.
