Which car is the perfect fit for a person who harbors both a deep respect for and an irresistible desire to control the ocean’s power?

If you asked Mercedes-Benz and Highsnobiety, they’ll tell you it’s the Mercedes-AMG C 63. And we wouldn’t say they’re wrong.

A video created through a collaboration between the luxury manufacturer and lifestyle blog follows professional surfer Marlon Lipke in Portugal, following the close parallels between carving a wave and taking a hairpin turn atop a cliff.

“I like the quiet before the storm. I like the sound of pure performance,” explains Lipke’s voiceover. “I like the power of nature.”

The Mercedes-Benz website describes this meeting as an example of the “sovereign power” found in the C 63 and C 63 S for 2015. “In land and on water,” it states, “the result is the same: sharp turns, and a feeling of lightness – mixed with absolute control.”

The Mercedes-AMG C 63 for 2015 is the top V8 model produced by the German marque, capable of producing 476 hp and 479 lb-ft, as a Feb. 24 press release describes. Its acceleration hits a 0-60 mph time of just 4.2 seconds, which is decreased to 4.1 for the C 63 S model. The 6.3-liter engine is naturally aspirated with engine notes that express true emotion.
