While the Mercedes-AMG GT S announcement is still fresh off the presses, we have some great footage of the car revving up and creating some extreme backfire noise.
The video, uploaded to YouTube by Shmee150 on Oct. 7, stars an orange AMG GT S parked in a showroom. The driver of the car gives the throttle a little nudge and the sound of the engine comes flying out of the amazing exhaust system.
The car is powered by an AMG-developed 4.0-liter V8 Biturbo engine (M178), which has a 7-speed AMG Speedshift transmission mated to it. This is the first sportscar from AMG that has internally mounted turbochargers and dry sump lubrication. With all of this being said, the base GT has 456 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque at the ready, while the GT S, seen in the video, has 503 hp and 479 lb-ft.
