A few days ago we announced an AMG version of the Mercedes-Benz GLC. But what if you don’t need all the interior space offered in the new GLC? For buyers who need more style from their compact SUV, Mercedes formally launched the GLC Coupe in a press release last night. It does, however, have four doors, so it will be a coupe in name only.
Lesser manufacturers would be content to simply change the roof line and call it a new model, but Mercedes engineering went so far as to sharpen the steering ratio to make the Coupe more sporty than the full-size SUV. Initially, two engines will be offered. For the base model, a turbocharged four cylinder is rated at 241 hp. If you need more AMG in your life, their 3.0L twin turbo V6 will send 362 hp to a nine speed automatic. Equipped with 4MATIC all wheel drive, 60 mph is achieved in under five seconds.
