Luxurious and superior, this first class 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class leaked early this week and is gaining much attention. Unveiled next week–appearing first on Mercedes-Benz Austria’s website for a short time– this W222 will have all LED lights and will come in two lengths that have the same wheelbases as the current W221, but is longer, lower and wider in size.
There are several features that make this new luxury limo better than ever. The S-Class grille has grown in size, making the W222 appear more aggressive than its predecessors. There appears to be two 12.3-inch TFT screens spread across half the dashboard and four central and circular shaped air vents. There is also expected to be higher-tech gadgets as well as higher quality materials throughout the cabin.
There are four sedan bodies in the new W222 range. Mercedes also plans to offer a super-stretched, superior Pullman edition with an extra-long wheelbase version. The twin-turbo V8 in the S550 goes up to 4.7 liters in capacity from 4.6 and gets 449 horsepower, a 20-hp bump over the present car, and 516 lb-ft of torque. The S350 Bluetec sticks with the 3.0-liter V6 but will get 258 horsepower, an 18-hp increase, and 457 lb-ft of torque. The 3.5-liter V6 and electric motor combo in the S400 Hybrid will get 302 hp, a jump of 27.
