McLaren Special Operations recently unveiled a new concept car on their Facebook page that takes the MP4-12C to a whole new level of engineering.
This concept car is filled to the brim with bespoke features, including a revised bonnet, front wing louvres, rear wing vents and a unique Airbrake. A new roof has a snorkel that leads air to the engine. Each of these body modifications is done with lightweight carbon fiber. Titanium wheel bolts and oil and water filler caps also do their part in shedding weight from the car. The lightweight wheels have also been diamond cut into a new design.
A carbon fiber instrument cluster with integrated shift lights fits, as well as other carbon fiber details throughout, create a sporty interior and lose even more weight.
Even though this may only be a concept right now, it looks like a model that McLaren would be more than willing to put into their current line-up. Stay tuned for more details about this extreme take on McLaren’s 12C.
