McLaren has broken word on their upcoming model, the much anticipated Sports Series. Teased in a press release issued today, the new McLaren Sports Series was previously referred to as the ‘P13,’ a name we’ve heard before. McLaren has also launched a social campaign for the new range, based around the story of the black swans of Western Australia. This campaign is explained in the video above, uploaded by McLaren today to YouTube.
The McLaren Sports Series will join the English automaker’s range just below the 650S and is referred to as a “sports car” in the press release. Being in the sports car range, the previous assumptions that the P13 would compete against the likes of the Porsche 911 seem to be correct.
McLaren is really breaking away from their norm with the Sports Series, having only created supercars and hypercars in the past, such as the P1, 650S and F1. However, with their expert engineers and state-of-the-art facility, there is no doubt in our minds that McLaren is going to create something special.
