There is no need to question whether or not McLaren’s MSO branch has the ability to produce completely customized models. This bespoke branch of McLaren is dedicated to crafting the cars their customers dream of.
Unleashed today on Facebook via their official page, McLaren teased MSO’s latest project, which is a special 650S dubbed ‘Project Kilo.’ According to the post’s description, this is “one of the most personalised, bespoke projects that MSO have undertaken to date.”
Carbon fiber was used extensively on Project Kilo, with the roof, diffuser, vent bezels, bespoke branded sill panels and instrument cluster bezel all created using the material. MSO also painted the inner door seams and logos in McLaren Orange, while the body color can be found on the aluminum water and oil filler caps and interior switches. And, harking back to the F1, MSO included a 24 carat gold-plated exhaust heatshield.
Additionally, MSO added personalized touches to the car in the form of a personal dedication plate on the driver’s side door and bespoke keys. And, if you noticed the Kiwi on the engine cover, this is a reference to the birthplace of Bruce McLaren.
