I wasn’t too sure about the McLaren P1 when I first saw it. It’s styling was a bit too much for me, but it has since grown on me and I become more excited about seeing one in real life every day. But all I have had to go on is the pictures of the design study. I have yet to see it drive, nor hear its engine noise. Thanks to McLaren, I can check both of those off of my to-do list.
They recently launched a video of the McLaren P1 undergoing some test runs at a track, donning it’s track-inspired camouflage. McLaren has been using CFD (computational fluid dynamics) aerodynamic modelling and bespoke Formula 1-derived dynamics simulation tools in order to better the McLaren P1’s performance. Their XP-codenamed test vehicles have been traveling around the globe in search of roads and tracks to test on. Many are working hand-in-hand with McLaren on the P1, including Akebono, Pirelli and Mobil 1.
We look forward to the next showing of this incredible vehicle!
