Back in the early 1990’s, McLaren Automotive stunned the world with their new model, the F1. Powered by a 6.1-liter V12 engine and built around decades of racing expertise, the McLaren F1 would go on to be one of the finest automobiles ever created. In fact, I remember seeing the car and thinking how insane it was that the F1 could reach over 200-mph and could cost $1 million. Oh, and I forgot to mention that McLaren packed in two passenger seats in this groundbreaking car.
Now, years later, we have hypercars such as the Porsche 918 Spyder, Ferrari LaFerrari and the F1’s successor, the McLaren P1. Each of these cars reach speeds well over the F1’s top speed and cost much more. That being said, no stats will ever discredit the F1.
Recently, Dave Nickerson of Nue Vue Photography had the chance to sit shotgun in an F1 at the Sebring International Raceway. Well, he sat as shotgun as you can get in the F1’s small cockpit.
He filmed the whole event and uploaded it to YouTube. You can view this video below.
