Lotus has revamped the Evora model with a new addition to their lineup. Unveiled in a press release today, the Lotus Evora 400 is the most powerful and fastest production model car the British marque has ever created.
Powering the new Evora 400 is a 3.5-liter V6 engine that comes with a new supercharger, water-to-air charge cooler and ECU. Its power output is set at 400 hp and 302 lb-ft of torque, which is a 55 hp and 7 lb-ft increase over the Evora S. Additionally, Lotus shaved 49 lbs off of for the Evora 400.
With a lighter weight and more powerful engine, the Evora 400 can sprint from 0-60 mph in just 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 186 mph.
“A requirement for all Lotus cars is to be a benchmark for handling, to be the quickest car from A to B and to provide the driver with a pure and involving driving experience,” said Jean-Marc Gales, CEO of Group Lotus plc. “The Evora 400 is the fastest road-going Lotus that we have ever produced, possessing performance that can only be matched by cars costing significantly more. It delivers supercar looks allied to supercar performance.”
Lotus has been increasing their production rate and has expanded to 168 dealers globally. It seems as though the British automaker is on the rise and we can’t wait to see what’s next.
